Experts discussed key topics related to the Internet and its impact on child health

Pediatricians, general practitioners, psychologists, pedagogical counselors, social workers and child safety experts on the Internet participated in a meeting-discussion “The virtual world and its impact on child health: the professionals speak”. The organizers of the event, which took place on February 13 at the Center for the Study of Democracy and are part of the Media Literacy Days 2020, are the National Center for Safe Internet and the Bulgarian Pediatric Association.

The experts shared their experience and discussed key topics related to the Internet and its impact on child health, as well as the greatest risks for children in the digital age. Based on the discussions, a special issue of Practical Pediatrics will be prepared and published for the purpose of discussion and possible recommendations to reach a wide range of professionals.

Georgi Apostolov from the National Center for Safe Internet opened the event with a presentation on “The Digital World and Child Health”. The full program of the meeting can be found on the website of the Bulgarian Pediatric Association.
