On March 9, the Association of European Journalists-Bulgaria, together with the association \“Data for Good\“, will held an online lecture on Disinformation and propaganda on social networks: mechanisms, players, victims. The event starts at 17:00 and lasts 90 minutes. Nikola Tulechki – lecturer in Semantic Technologies at Sofia University and NBU, data expert at Ontotext and chairman of the association \“Data for Good\“ – will present the techniques of \“trolls\“ and the mechanics of the dissemination of misinformation on social networks.

During the lecture, specific examples will be considered regarding the argument that this phenomenon is inevitable and is a natural consequence of the very principle of functioning of social networks (by design). The methods, motivation (or lack thereof) of the main players will be described, and participants will receive guidance on what each of us can do to protect ourselves and especially not to become an accomplice in the problem.
